Finally we’ve done it. League Champions 2008/09. To think of the great men and women who have passed through our doors this past 44 years and suffered watching other team’s successes while we were the bridesmaids and saying “maybe next year”. This is decatited to them far too many to mention but we all know the characters we had and still have. Also we can’t forget our committees over the years who have made the Welders club into one of the biggest in the whole of Ireland and probably the best run, to all our former managers who done their best for the club and the team and who some are now our section members, others still have the Welders in their hearts. To all the players who pulled a Welders shirt over their backs, we thank you one and all for your service. And mostly to our long suffering football secretary Mr Fred Magee who has gave half his life to the Welders and who has served on many an Irish League and County Antrim committee and watched and often presented other teams with the winners trophies and who last night had the pleasure of presenting our captain with the Windsor cup, This is for everyone at Dee Street and Tillysburn Park,
